COURSE
Regulations Governing Guidance for Course Registration

Article 1

These Regulations were formulated in accordance with Article 18 of Fu Jen Catholic University Regulations Governing Course Registration.

Article 2

Self-directed learning is the core idea behind the curriculum framework and guidance for course registration at the Institute. Students are at the center of their learning; instructors will assist them in registering for courses and the students will be responsible for their own choices.

Article 3

Students should familiarize themselves with courses and registration procedures during the Information Session for New Students, and complete the Course Study Plan under the guidance of their adviser. Students may alter the Plan during their studies based on their interests and inclinations. After authorized by the adviser, a student’s registration will be updated every semester along with the Course Record Form.

Article 4

Duties of a student’s adviser include:

1. Planning and confirming the Course Study Plan
2. Arranging courses that need to be retaken or taken because missed in the past
3. Reminding students to complete graduation requirements
4. Helping students to resolve any difficulties that arise during course registration

Article 5

Students should register for courses offered by the Institution. Credits earned in courses from another program or university may be recognized, but only if approved in advance by the student’s adviser and the Director of the Institute. A maximum of four credits earned in courses taken at another program or university may be recognized.

Article 6

The Institute conducts pre-registration every semester. Advisers must assist students to register in courses based on their Course Study Plan. A pre-registration course list is only valid once it has been signed by the student’s adviser.

Article 7

Before the office of the Institute makes the online registration system available to students for course registration, it will first register a student in courses based on their pre-registration course list. Students must log into the system and confirm that they are registered in the correct courses. If a student wishes to register in a course offered by a different program, they must go online and register themselves.

Article 8

If there is an insufficient number of students to open a class, or there is a problem with scheduling, the Director may adjust the pre-registration course list of individual students after the student’s adviser agrees to the change.

Article 9

These Regulations have been passed by the Curriculum Committee and will be implemented upon approval of the Academic Affairs Council. The same procedure will be followed for each amendment.
